Catwalk was conceived in the midst of summer 2005 by Nick Hessler. The southern California-based songwriter was in junior high school when he began producing a steady stream of home-recorded demos that soon reached local Oxnard label YAY! Records (now defunct). A limited 250 run of two 7″ singles on YAY! helped launch the band’s formation. Despite fluctuating line-up changes, Hessler has continued to perfect his mature brand of “winsome, distanced indie pop”. This elegant blend of dreamy songs that reflect “love, loss, longing, & inner-turbulence…” eventually got the attention of Mike Sniper. In 2010, Captured Tracks released the 7″ singles “(Please) Don’t Break Me” & “One By Words”. Catwalk is currently working on their debut LP, to be released in Spring 2012.
