Last month Captured Tracks announced an exclusive partnership with iconic New Zealand label ‘Flying Nun Records’ working in tandem to re-issue the labels diverse catalog. It was also announced that a 2xLP compilation of Toy Love was to be the first release of this campaign. The beginning is often the best place to start with most things however, a Toy Love Flying Nun release takes this one step further for Toy Love pre-date’s Flying Nun records but included members who would go on to shape the labels DIY ethos and sound. Chris Knox and Alec Bathgate would go on to form ‘Tall Dwarfs’ and Paul Kean ‘The Bats’ respectively with Knox becoming a pivotal part of Flying Nun’s operation.
