Cosmetics are a two piece from Vancouver, BC. Their music is made for dancing, and with feeling and attention to the details. Their trip is sleek and synthetic meets human emotion. Cosmic glamour meets do-it-yourself. Voice and a rhythm. Frosty tropics and hazy nites. Love on the beat. Nic M and Aja Emma formed Cosmetics in Summer 2008, the first band for both of them. In 2009 they put together the Tuff Trax 8-track studio in their home where they work on sound and visuals every day. Cosmetics is their lifestyle. "Soft Skin" is a bonechillingly cold track with an irresistable beat.

Wetdog have a new 7" out called 'Lower Leg' this week which is great. I immediately I get bits of The Slits and The Raincoats. Well this is far from cocks. It's great spiky pop music which sounds like it's falling to bits but it somehow manages to stay in one piece relatively unscathed. It's a fantastic pop tune bursting with energy and I'm already in my fifth spin... I will not leave this tune alone. Total single of the week if I ever heard one!!! -Norman Records

A young British man named L. single handedly produced this dreamy, Sonic Flower Groovy fuzz-pop stomper, although it sounds like it could have been recorded at Gold Star in 1965 for release on Creation in 1985. Two tracks, one million hooks. We're really proud to be putting this out in anticipation of a 2010 Captured Tracks LP.

We are proud to put out a full-length record by the prolific Oh Sees, and boy, is this one a monster. More layered and textural than previous Oh Sees releases while keeping all the typical Dwyer punch, oomph and weirdness. 10 fantastic new songs, terrifying pencil-drawn sleeve. Our second LP release, and we couldn't be more pleased with it.

Four new Grass Widow tracks including a cover of the Urinals "Black Hole." I can't gush enough about this band, but please pick up the LP on Make-A-Mess. The influence of The Move's bass sound and arrangements, 60's folk-rock vocal harmonies and the Neo Boys are present in the works, plus a whole magic power they have all thepir own. That's right: magic power. Magick?
