With lyrics in Spanish, Wauters taps into the quiet power of presence, reminding us how healing it can be to ask, “How are you? Why are you crying?” Rooted in the intimacy of everyday connection, it’s a beautiful example of the heart and humanity that run through MVD LUV.
An amazing music video accompanies the track, which finds Juan busking to buy donuts for his daughter, who wanders off on a “Baby’s Day Out”–style adventure through NYC and saves the day by finding an envelope of cash.
Of the single, Juan says:
“’Dime Amiga’ (Tell Me Friend) is a song that sparked while seeing my daughter cry. I had my guitar in hand and the chorus just came out as we were there. ‘Tell me friend how you are doing. Tell me friend why you’re crying.’ After coming up with that part, I expanded and finished the song over the following days. I wanted the song to highlight life’s difficulties and how important it is to have a friend on your side if it ever gets hard. Another message I wanted to convey within the song was that I’m here for when she needs me. Aside from being here now, I am here forever.”
